Yamaha XSR 155

The Yamaha XSR 155 brings timeless design cues wrapped in a modern streetfighter form. With its round LED headlamp, sculpted fuel tank, vintage-style seat, and brushed aluminum elements, the XSR 155 stands out among commuter bikes. Built on the Deltabox frame, it blends the rugged look of retro motorcycles with the aggressive stance of Yamaha’s sportbike DNA. The minimalist rear and exposed engine design further add to its retro charm

Liquid‑Cooled VVA Engine Borrowed from R15

Under the tank, the XSR 155 runs on the same 155 cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled, SOHC engine found in the R15 and MT-15. It produces 19.3 PS at 10,000 rpm and 14.7 Nm at 8,500 rpm. Yamaha’s Variable Valve Actuation (VVA) tech gives the bike a strong mid-range and excellent throttle response. It is paired with a 6-speed gearbox with assist and slipper clutch, providing smoother gear changes and reducing wheel hop during downshifts

Mileage up to 48 kmpl with Frugal Ride Dynamics

Despite its performance profile, the XSR 155 returns an impressive real-world mileage of up to 48 kmpl. It delivers efficient fuel economy in city traffic and on highway runs, making it a practical yet exciting daily rider. The fuel tank capacity of 10 liters offers decent range for both urban and touring riders

135 km/h Top Speed with Smooth Highway Cruising

With a top speed of around 135 km/h, the XSR 155 handles highway cruising effortlessly. Its engine refinement and aerodynamics offer a stable and smooth ride even at higher speeds. Acceleration is brisk and responsive, offering 0 to 60 km/h in under 5 seconds

USD Forks, Monoshock and Superior Braking Setup

The bike comes with 37 mm upside-down telescopic front forks and a linked-type rear monoshock. It rides on 17-inch alloy wheels with tubeless tyres. Braking is handled by a 282 mm front disc and a 220 mm rear disc. Although ABS may be single-channel in some markets, braking performance remains sharp and confidence-inspiring

Ergonomics and Dimensions Tuned for Urban Riders

It has a seat height of 810 mm, ground clearance of 170 mm, and a wheelbase of 1330 mm, offering nimble handling and stable cornering. The upright seating position and wide handlebars make it perfect for city rides, while still allowing sporty weekend runs

Expected Price in India Around ₹1.80 Lakh

Yamaha is expected to launch the XSR 155 in India by late 2025 with an ex-showroom price of approximately ₹1.75 to ₹1.80 lakh. It will compete with models like the Keeway SR 250, Husqvarna Svartpilen 250, and the Royal Enfield Hunter 350 in the retro-style segment.
