Hyundai Creta EV: India’s Most Awaited Electric SUV with Futuristic Design & Long Range

Hyundai Creta EV

Hyundai is set to electrify its bestselling SUV with the all-new Hyundai Creta EV, expected to launch in India by early 2025. Based on the popular Creta platform, the EV version will offer a familiar yet futuristic design, competitive range, and smart features all at a price accessible to mass buyers looking to shift to electric mobility.

Modern SUV Design with EV Twist

The Creta EV is expected to retain its muscular SUV stance while introducing EV-specific design tweaks like a closed front grille, aero alloy wheels, new LED DRLs, and a redesigned bumper for improved aerodynamics. It will feature the same dimensions as the ICE version with a few cosmetic upgrades and EV badging. Hyundai may also introduce new exclusive colors like Midnight Blue Pearl and Eco Teal Green.

Capable Battery & Fast Charging

The Creta EV is likely to come with a 45 kWh to 50 kWh lithium-ion battery pack, offering a range of around 400–450 km on a single charge (ARAI certified). The motor is expected to deliver around 138 bhp and 250 Nm torque, providing quick acceleration and smooth urban driving. Fast charging support via DC chargers (up to 50 kW) will allow 10–80% charge in under 50 minutes, while a standard home charger may take 6–8 hours.

Feature-Rich, Connected Cabin

Inside, the Creta Electric will borrow features from its facelifted ICE sibling, including a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, digital instrument cluster, panoramic sunroof, ventilated seats, 6 airbags, 360° camera, and ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance System) features like lane-keep assist and forward collision warning. Hyundai’s Bluelink connected car tech will also be EV-optimized to show battery status, range, charging stations, and remote AC control.

Expected Price & Launch Timeline

Hyundai is likely to price the Creta EV between ₹17.5 lakh to ₹22 lakh (ex-showroom), making it one of the most accessible electric SUVs in India with a premium badge. It will compete directly with the Tata Nexon EV Max, MG ZS EV, and the upcoming Maruti eVX. Launch is expected in early 2025, with production already underway at Hyundai’s Chennai plant. The Hyundai Creta EV is poised to be a gamechanger in India’s electric SUV market, combining the proven popularity of the Creta brand with modern EV technology, long range, and Hyundai’s reliability. For buyers seeking their first electric SUV without compromising on features or comfort, this could be the perfect upgrade.
