The upcoming Maruti Suzuki e-Vitara is expected to be the brand’s first all-electric SUV, based on a new-generation EV platform co-developed with Toyota. It will combine the muscular look of the Grand Vitara with EV-specific upgrades like a closed grille, aero wheels, full-width LED light bars, and a coupe-style rear for a more modern, aerodynamic appearance. The e-Vitara will ride high like a true SUV but with enhanced efficiency and futuristic styling.
Built on a Dedicated EV Platform
Unlike other converted EVs, the e-Vitara is expected to be built on a dedicated electric architecture (possibly Toyota’s 27PL platform), which will allow for better cabin space, battery packaging, and driving dynamics. Expect a flat floor, wide stance, and practical boot space for families.
Battery & Range Expectations
The Maruti e-Vitara is likely to be powered by a 45–50 kWh lithium-ion battery pack, offering a real-world range of 400–500 km on a full charge. It is expected to support both AC home charging (7.2 kW) and DC fast charging (up to 50 kW), enabling 10–80% top-up in less than 60 minutes. The motor may produce 100–120 bhp with good low-end torque for effortless city driving.
Smart Interior with New-Gen Features
Inside, the e-Vitara will feature a premium dashboard with a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, digital driver display, connected car tech, wireless Android Auto/Apple CarPlay, automatic climate control, 6 airbags, hill hold assist, and more. A sunroof, 360-degree camera, and ADAS Level-2 features like adaptive cruise control and lane keep assist may also be part of the top variant.
Expected Price & Launch in India
Maruti Suzuki is expected to launch the e-Vitara in late 2025 or early 2026, with pricing likely starting from ₹18 lakh to ₹22 lakh (ex-showroom). It will be manufactured at Maruti’s Gujarat plant and sold through NEXA outlets. Once launched, it will rival the Hyundai Creta EV, Tata Nexon EV Long Range, and MG ZS EV. The Maruti Suzuki e-Vitara is set to bring a powerful combination of EV tech, SUV practicality, and Maruti’s trusted after-sales support. With futuristic looks, good range, and connected features, it could become a strong contender in India’s growing electric car market.
