Built on the Proven 650cc Platform
The upcoming Classic 650 will be based on the same platform that powers the Interceptor 650 and Continental GT 650. It will feature the 648cc parallel-twin engine, which produces around 47 bhp and 52 Nm of torque, paired with a 6-speed gearbox and a slipper clutch. This setup has already proven to be reliable and responsive, offering excellent refinement and strong mid-range torque. With this engine under its tank, the Classic 650 will become the most powerful Royal Enfield in the Classic series.
Classic Styling With Modern Touches
Royal Enfield is expected to retain the Classic DNA with a round headlamp, teardrop fuel tank, long fenders, chrome accents, and spoked wheels. However, it will also receive a few modern updates including LED lighting, dual-channel ABS, USB charging, and possibly a semi-digital instrument cluster with Tripper Navigation support. The riding ergonomics will remain relaxed, ideal for long-distance cruising with upright posture and wide handlebars.
Expected Launch Timeline and Price in India
According to insider reports, the Royal Enfield Classic 650 is expected to be officially launched by November or December 2025. It will be priced slightly above the Interceptor 650, likely starting from ₹3.49 lakh (ex-showroom). Bookings are expected to open soon after the official announcement, with deliveries beginning early 2026. The Classic 650 will be available via Royal Enfield’s showrooms and online channels across India and export markets.
