TVS Motor Company is all set to electrify its best-selling commuter scooter with the upcoming Jupiter Electric Scooter. Known for its practicality, comfort, and reliability in petrol form, the electric version will now bring zero-emission performance, smart features, and a familiar design language tailored for daily urban riders.
Familiar Design With Subtle EV Tweaks
The Jupiter Electric will carry forward the classic styling of its petrol sibling with slight EV-specific updates. Expect LED headlamps, a reworked front apron, aerodynamic panels, and new color themes to differentiate it from the ICE version. Alloy wheels, a large seat, and external charging port placement will enhance everyday usability.
Long Range Battery With Fast and Removable Charging Options
The scooter is expected to offer a range of around 100–120 km per charge, powered by a Lithium-ion battery pack mounted under the footboard. TVS may offer removable battery options for convenient home or office charging, along with fast charging support that powers up the scooter in under 4 hours.
Hub Motor for Smooth and Silent Ride
The Jupiter EV will likely be equipped with a silent hub-mounted motor, delivering seamless acceleration, regenerative braking, and stable city cruising. Multiple ride modes like Eco, Power, and Reverse Assist could be available to optimize performance and battery life based on usage.
Smart Digital Console With App Connectivity
The electric Jupiter will feature a fully digital instrument cluster, providing access to real-time range, trip meter, riding modes, turn-by-turn navigation, and call/SMS alerts. Smartphone pairing via the TVS SmartXonnect app will unlock features like geo-fencing, ride tracking, anti-theft alerts, and OTA updates.
Comfort and Safety Built for Daily Use
The telescopic front suspension, large 12-inch wheels, and under-seat storage will make the Jupiter Electric ideal for both short and mid-range commutes. Safety features will include CBS (Combi-Braking System), side-stand cutoff, anti-theft lock, and a durable frame tuned for Indian roads.
